Dick Wolf loves me! And other (fun) news.
Tune in this Tuesday 10pm EST to watch me play a grumpy bartender on FBI: Most Wanted.
Hi All! Happy to report my second TV booking of the year, episode 17 of FBI: Most Wanted. I play ‘Bartender Kaylin’, who gets interviewed about her regular customer, a murder suspect - and is less than cooperative. Check out the episode teaser!
I also would like to plug the teaser for our film NIP - I’m both happy AND sad to say we’ve gotten some really lovely, personal letters of rejection from BIG festivals like SXSW, Cleveland and Atlanta, saying we made it to the very final cut - we’re still waiting to hear from TIFF, Hamptons, and Heartland Film Festival, where I’m a two-time alum - so fingers crossed for a premiere soon-!
Speaking of the festival circuit, I’m heading to Hollister, CA next weekend for the Poppy Jasper Film Festival, labeled one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” in 2024, by Movie Maker Magazine . Birds of Paradise is playing there - this is our third festival so far. This film is so special (I’m biased obviously) AND run time comes in around 27 minutes which makes it a challenge to program - so we’re really grateful they chose us! I’m thrilled to get to see it on the big screen finally - and represent our ridiculously talented cast and crew :)
Meanwhile, back in NYC - I have been looking to get my groove back when it comes to just having FUN and being silly on stage - and to that end, I joined a Clown Class in March at Brooklyn Comedy Collective, taught by the VERY funny Chris Manley. I’ve been looovvviing it… my soul needed this. My classmates are so goofy and sweet, and we’re putting together a final showcase for April 21st, right after I get back from California. If you’re in NYC/BK, and you want to see the most absurd and heart-open work being done by truly excellent, and very talented humans - COME THROUGH :)
And finally - guess what??? After eight years in my wonderful Bed Stuy apartment, I’m MOVING! That’s right. I’m moving 10 minutes down the street, to Crown Heights. So after June first, if you’re sending me a Christmas card (which would be weird of you, why would you do that in June?!) let me know and I’ll send you my new addy. It’s very exciting, because I’ll finally have a backyard - and can reach my full Brooklyn potential with homegrown tomatoes and my full cat lady potential by adding a furry friend to the mix.
Otherwise, still writing (finished the feature, and on to more producible things for now!), and am going to be working on another short in May that is helmed exclusively by women called “Pencils Down” - more on that soon!
‘Til the next,
Thea
Can I get a copy of the poster?
Bravo! 🤘🏻
